Power Meets

Swedish Power Magazine is organizing various Power Meets in Scandinavia. The biggest American car meet in Europe is Power Big Meet Sweden. In 1996 it was 19th Big Meet in Västerås, Sweden. New record was made once again in 1996: over 6000 cars visited Power Big Meet! American car enthusiasts come from all over Europe to Power Big Meet. Power Big Meet is now world's biggest car meet for '50s and '60s classic American cars (of course there are also lot of other cars - Kustoms, rods, street racers and so on).

There's also a big swap meet included to Power Big Meet. On the saturday night there's also Power Big Meet Cruising. The cruising is biggest in Europe. The city of Västerås was totally jammed with classic American cars. Power Big Meet Sweden has become some kind of place of pilgrimage for American car enthusiasts and it's probably even bigger in 1997!

In Finland there was also some Power Meets couple of years ago: Power Meet Finland. It was organized together with Swedish Power Magazine and FHRA (Finnish Hot Rod Association). In 1996 the meet was in Alastaro Drag Strip (not very good place to have a car meet!). There was only about 300 cars in 1996 Power Meet Finland (one reason for so low visitor number was the location of that meet) and in 1997 there wasn't any more Power Meet in Finland.
